Game Rules
These rules explain the fair-play requirements that apply when using JFTSE game services. They supplement the JFTSE Terms of Service and apply to all game modes, rooms, matches, events, rankings and reward systems.
The examples on this page are provided for clarity and are not exhaustive. Conduct does not become permitted merely because the exact method used is not individually listed.
Scope
These Game Rules apply at all times to all gameplay on JFTSE. This includes ordinary daily gameplay, casual and friendly matches, private rooms, ranked matches, events, leagues, competitions and every available game mode.
References to an event, competition, ranking, or reward period are examples and do not limit the general application of these rules. Farming, boosting, multi-accounting, match manipulation and other prohibited conduct remain prohibited at all times, whether or not an event, competition, ranking, or reward period is active.
Event-specific or activity-specific rules apply only to the relevant event or activity, but they apply in addition to the Terms of Service and these Game Rules. They do not make otherwise prohibited conduct permissible unless JFTSE expressly provides an exception.
General Fair Play
Players must participate normally and must not intentionally misuse game mechanics, accounts, characters, maps, other players, or arranged matches to obtain an unintended advantage or in-game benefit.
Completing a match technically does not by itself make the gameplay legitimate. JFTSE may consider how the match was played, why it was played, the selected difficulty, the behavior of participating characters, repetition, timing, and the resulting benefits.
Private agreements between players do not override these rules.
Multiple Accounts
Players may own and use multiple accounts at different times.
However, one person may not control or use more than one account or character in the same game room or match.
The following are prohibited:
- Joining the same room or match with multiple accounts or characters controlled by the same person.
- Controlling one account normally while providing occasional input to another participating account.
- Using separate computers, virtual machines, devices, or connections to control multiple participating accounts.
- Using additional accounts to fill room, team, or matchmaking slots.
- Leaving an additional account idle or AFK while it receives an in-game benefit.
- Asking another person to control one of your accounts to bypass these rules.
- Switching devices, accounts, characters, or connections to conceal the relationship between participating accounts.
This restriction applies even when every participating account receives some manual input.
Active Participation
Active participation means genuine and continuous control reasonably consistent with normal gameplay.
The following do not make an otherwise idle or secondary character actively played:
- Occasionally moving the character.
- Repeating the same minimal action.
- Pressing Quick Slot keys to activate bound skills while not otherwise controlling the character.
- Alternating between game clients to provide limited input.
- Performing only enough input to avoid inactivity detection.
- Allowing a character to remain idle for most of the match.
Quick Slot input is still minimal input when it is used merely to make an idle character appear active. It does not permit one person to participate through multiple accounts or characters in the same room.
Farming and Boosting
Farming means intentionally repeating, arranging, or simplifying gameplay primarily to generate in-game benefits outside normal play.
Boosting means intentionally helping an account, character, player, or club obtain progression, statistics, rankings, rewards, or another advantage through arranged or abnormal gameplay.
Farming and boosting do not require multiple accounts. They may also occur when separate players coordinate their behavior.
The following are prohibited:
- Repeating extremely short or non-competitive matches primarily for benefits.
- Feeding wins, losses, kills, points, experience, progression, statistics, or rewards.
- Taking turns receiving wins or other benefits.
- Predetermining which player or team will win.
- Arranging for another player or team to provide easy progress.
- Using an idle or minimally controlled participant to generate match benefits.
- Intentionally selecting inappropriate content or difficulty primarily to generate faster event progress.
- Playing differently from normal gameplay to maximize unintended rewards.
- Coordinating matches that are technically completed but are not genuinely played.
- Moving benefits between accounts through arranged gameplay.
- Attempting any of the above even if the intended benefit is not successfully received.
Match Manipulation
Players must not intentionally interfere with the normal course, result, or consequences of a match.
The following are prohibited when done to influence a result or benefit:
- Intentionally disconnecting.
- Intentionally remaining AFK or inactive.
- Intentionally refusing to participate.
- Deliberately allowing yourself or your teammate to lose.
- Intentionally surrendering through abnormal gameplay.
- Preventing a match from being completed normally.
- Arranging a later match to return, balance, or compensate for a previous result.
- Trading wins or losses between players, teams, accounts, or clubs.
It does not matter whether the other participants consent or consider the conduct a joke. Returning a win or benefit later does not undo the original manipulation.
Guardian Mode and Progression-Appropriate Play
Guardian Mode follows a fixed map and character progression. Players are expected to select maps reasonably appropriate to their character's level, progression, and legitimate gameplay purpose.
The early Guardian maps are:
- Nest of Rubycrab - available from level 1.
- Emerald Beach - available from level 4.
- Twinkle Town - available from level 7.
- The Aeolos - available from level 10.
Life Woods becomes available at level 14. Later maps introduce mid-game and end-game progression, including boss-stage maps and higher-level content.
High-level characters must not repeatedly use beginner or substantially lower-progression Guardian maps primarily to obtain faster or easier event progress.
For example, a level 80 character repeatedly clearing Nest of Rubycrab within seconds during a Guardian Club League Duel period is prohibited farming. The match technically completing and the player pressing skills do not make this normal or legitimate gameplay.
The following factors may indicate Guardian farming:
- The character significantly exceeds the progression level of the selected map.
- The map is completed abnormally quickly.
- The same low-level map is repeated many times.
- The activity occurs mainly or exclusively while Guardian matches provide Club League Duel progress.
- The player does not normally use the map outside the reward period.
- The gameplay produces rapid event progress with little meaningful participation or challenge.
- Multiple players or accounts coordinate to repeat the same pattern.
No single factor must be considered in isolation. JFTSE may evaluate the complete gameplay pattern and its apparent purpose.
Legitimate Material Farming
Playing lower-level Guardian maps for materials tied to specific maps or Guardians is allowed.
However, material farming must be genuine and may not be used as a cover for Club League Duel farming or another form of event exploitation.
JFTSE may consider:
- Whether the selected map provides materials relevant to the player.
- Whether the player uses the map outside Club League Duel reward periods.
- Whether the number and timing of matches are consistent with obtaining materials.
- Whether the behavior changes specifically when Guardian matches provide event progress.
- Whether the player repeatedly chooses the fastest possible low-level map rather than content connected to the claimed materials.
Incidental event progress from genuine material farming does not automatically establish a violation. However, JFTSE may remove or exclude event progress obtained from progression-inappropriate matches.
A player who repeatedly uses a material-farming claim to justify an event-only low-map pattern may be treated as farming.
Private and Friendly Rooms
The following do not exempt a room or match from these rules:
- The room is private or password-protected.
- All participants are friends.
- All participants are in voice chat.
- Every participant agrees.
- Nobody submits a complaint.
- Nobody claims to have been harmed.
- Participants intend to return or compensate for the resulting benefit.
Rooms and matches that affect progression, rankings, events, statistics, or rewards remain part of JFTSE's shared game systems.
Events and Competitive Activities
Events, leagues, rankings, club competitions and limited-time activities may impose additional participation requirements.
Activity-specific rules may:
- Restrict participation to one account or character per person.
- Restrict eligible maps, modes, difficulty levels, or match formats.
- Exclude progression-inappropriate or abnormally played matches.
- Limit which account, character, team, or club a player may represent.
- Remove progress or rewards obtained through farming, boosting, or manipulation.
- Introduce additional fair-play requirements appropriate to the activity.
Any additional requirements will be published with the applicable event, league, competition, ranking, or activity rules. They apply in addition to the Terms of Service and these Game Rules.
Enforcement
Depending on the conduct, severity, repetition, and benefits involved, JFTSE may:
- Issue a warning.
- Remove improperly obtained progression, statistics, rankings, rewards, or other benefits.
- Disqualify a player, account, team, or club from an event.
- Temporarily suspend involved accounts.
- Permanently terminate involved accounts.
- Apply sanctions to accounts used to commit, support, conceal, or circumvent a violation.
All accounts belonging to or controlled by the responsible player may be considered when determining or applying sanctions.
A shared household or internet connection alone does not prove a violation. Genuine players from the same household may play together when each person controls only their own account and no farming, boosting, or manipulation occurs.
Rule Interpretation
Rules cannot list every possible abuse method or future game mechanic.
JFTSE may evaluate whether conduct violates the purpose and substance of these rules based on the complete available evidence. Renaming an action, using a method not specifically listed, or exploiting a technical omission does not make otherwise prohibited conduct permissible.
If a player is genuinely uncertain whether a planned arrangement is allowed, they must ask JFTSE staff before participating.
